With 1 in 8 American women suffering the devastating effects of breast cancer, it’s hard to find anyone who hasn’t been touched by the disease. Team Rise is committed to the cause and will be running at the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure to help end breast cancer. You can help! Join our team or support us with a donation today!

Susan G. Komen for the Cure is an incredible charitable organization that we are proud to join in the fight to end breast cancer. We rose to the challenge by participating in 2010 and this year we’re strapping our sneakers back on for the 2011 Central Florida 5k run and fitness walk – we can’t wait for race day on October 16th!

Many people are not aware of it, but breast cancer that has gone untreated often spreads to become bone and brain cancer, and is in a family of diseases that includes ovarian cancer as well. The fight against breast cancer isn’t strictly about one type of disease! It’s an effort that has the potential to help people suffering from a number of cancers and is worthy of everyone’s support.

To that end, we invite absolutely everybody to join Team Rise! We would be delighted to run or walk with you, and if you’d like to make a donation we would love your support. We aim to raise at least $1,500 to help eradicate the disease and save lives. You can help!

Whether you can give $5 or $500, every cent gets us closer to our goal and we are thankful for whatever you can offer. Donations are tax deductible and we invite you to visit our Team Page to register to race with us or make a secure donation online!

If running with Rise isn’t up your alley, there are other activities to support the fight against breast cancer here in Central Florida. You can…

  • Register to Sleep in for the Cure
  • Attend the UKNIGHT football event where the Susan G. Komen for the Cure has partnered with the University of Central Florida for an evening of athletics
  • Make an appearance at the Pretty in Pink Martini Party being thrown by the Orlando Sentinel!

While these are great options, we hope you’ll join Team Rise on October 16th with running shoes ready! Let’s pound the pavement together and give breast cancer the fight of its life to save ours. Register to run/walk with us or make a donation today!
